Levitating Light Bulb


Well from the picture above it looks like a light hovering in mid air…well thats because it is!

Chris Rieger, an engineering student at Australia’s University of Queensland, has developed a wireless LED light which floats.

So how does it work? The short answer is magnets; the long, scientific answer with supporting links and video is here.

With further development, I can see quite a lot of potentially amazing designs being made. No more screw fixings to change your light bulbs!
